Reese's First Baseball Game

We decided it was finally time for Reese's first baseball game, so we headed downtown today to Victory Field (home of the Minor League Indianapolis Indians) to catch a game. It was pretty warm for early May, so we grabbed a spot in the shade - it would have been way too hot to sit out in the sun. We ended up staying til the middle of the 6th, so we spent more time there than I expected.

It was souvenir Sunday, so Reese got a free tee shirt that he will probably still be able to wear when he's six.

We bought him an Indians baseball and he was very excited about it.

We even got to throw the ball a few times behind the blanket. Next step, get my glove from my parents' house and buy one for Reese.

We all had a good time

We even headed a bit closer to the game so we could see it better.

Other than getting his baseball, Reese's favorite part was eating the ice cream.

On the way home Reese asked for some paper and something to draw with, so he was sitting in his seat drawing on paper and I took a glance in the rear-view mirror and saw that Reese decided to continue his artwork on his face...

All in all, we had a great time. The weather was nice, Reese really enjoyed himself and we'll definitely head back for another game. I had flashbacks to going to old Riverfront Stadium to watch Reds games with my dad, but even though the baseball isn't quite as good as in the Majors, the Minor League experience was great because we got the opportunity to sit in the lawn and just relax. If we were at a Major League park, we would have been stuck in seats - and Reese isn't ready for that yet.
