Our First Indy 500

My parents called Lindsay and I on Friday to let us know they'd scored 4 tickets to this year's Indy 500. Lindsay and I have listened to the last few 500s but hadn't been to one yet. My parents are quickly becoming real Hoosiers. In the 6 months since they moved here, they've been to a Colts Game, now the Indy 500 and this fall, they'll join us at the Indiana State Fair!

We had a great time and got to see a fantastic race. Thanks Mom and Dad for the tickets and a great time at the race!

We got to the track a bit early and got a chance to check out the Yard of Bricks in the infield.

Here are my mom and dad posing on the Yard of Bricks as well.

The balloons go up after Jim Nabors sings "Back Home Again In Indiana"

A shot we got from our great seats in the Paddock Penthouse, right across from the Pagoda and Winner's Circle.

An accident right in front of our seats on the main straightaway.

Some drama in the pits.
