4th of July in South Haven

We just got back from another great trip to South Haven (Here are our trips from 2013, 2012 and 2009).

No trip to South Haven is complete without a stop at Sherman's for some ice cream!

We spent a day up in Grand Rapids (Reese was calling it "Grand Rabbits", so Palmer spent the whole trip saying "Rabbits! Rabbits!"). While in GR, we went to Meijer Gardens and the boys had lots of fun:

Playing at the outdoor water table shaped like the Great Lakes.

Reese had fun in the HUGE sandbox:

Super Reese at Meijer Gardens:

Palmer has been really into Tea Parties lately and he was very excited to play with the tea set in the Children's Garden:

Our awesome boys:

We also visited Lindsay's friend Molly and got to hang out with Molly's 18-month old.

We rode our bikes around town all weekend and stopped for the parade on Independence Day:

USA! USA! USA!

Lindsay and Reese enjoying the lighthouse and harbor

Reese LOVED doing some small fireworks we brought with us:

Can't have a 4th of July without sparklers!

And, of course, the beach. We rode our bikes to the beach a couple of times, and they loved it.

Lindsay made an amazing dessert for dinner on the 4th, Jello with sliced strawberries, topped with cool whip and a star made of blueberries.

Next, we went out to pick fresh Michigan sweet cherries. Reese got his own bucket and picked around a pound on his own.

I took about a dozen of these pictures and in every one, while one kid was smiling the other was either making a funny face or putting their head down, so this is the best we got ;)

So. Many. Cherries.

Cool dude Palmer chillin' in town on our last day in South Haven

The boys had a great time at the wooden playgroud:
