14 Month Update

Reese just turned 14 months old and he's finally made it to the big car seat. It's still facing backwards, because he's below 20 lbs, but he'll be there before we know it. He actually seems much happier in the car, now that he sits up more vertically in his new car seat and can see out the windows better.

We spend quite a bit of time upstairs playing each day and Reese always enjoys himself up there.

Lindsay created a "sensory tub" for Reese. We fill it with different things and let him play around with it, experiencing the different textures. Here is the tub filled with cotton pompoms from the dollar store, but we've also filled it with dried beans and mini marshmallows. He really enjoys playing with the sensory tub.

The other day, while watching Elmo on the TV, Reese took a seat in this rocking chair, which was used by Lindsay, as well as Grandpa Doug and Aunt Kathie when they were little. He didn't stay in it for long, but he doesn't really stay anywhere for long...

Favorites and new skills:

  • He loves doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Patty Cake with us
  • He's consistently signing "please" and "all done"
  • He weighed 19 lbs. a few days before his 14-month birthday
  • He's sitting in his big boy car seat now.
