It's hard to believe the kids start school on August 1, but it's true.
In honor of the kids starting school tomorrow, we spent some time this weekend doing some new "last blast of summer" traditions.
Also, late last week, Reese asked Lindsay and I if he could make a movie. We had him write out a script and storyboard. Then Lindsay shot the video while Reese and Palmer acted.
Today, Reese and I sat down to edit his movie. I helped him with the cuts, but he decide which shots (and which takes) he wanted in the movie and he wrote the beginning and ending of the movie and helped me find just the right music.

We ventured over to Splash Island in Plainfield and the boys LOVED spending most of the day at the waterpark.
Lindsay and I have been obsessed with The Great British Baking Show and when we got home, I decided I wanted to make a cake. Of course, the only ingredients we had were a bright Blue Velvet Cake and bright pink frosting.
I think Paul and Mary would be proud of me.
We spent Sunday morning hiking at Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park. It was really great to get out and hike and we really enjoyed the trail.
