Boys Days in June + Palmerisms & Reeseisms

Lindsay just finished up her summer class which had her teaching evenings 3 days a week for 3 weeks and 2 full Saturdays during June. With all that teaching time, that left a lot of time for "boys nights" and "boys days" throughout June.

One of our favorite things we did was go and visit Lindsay during a break last Saturday. The boys decided to wear matching outfits and Reese held Palmer's hand as they walked across campus:

We had fun at the park:

Went swimming at Cici and Bo's:

Went to the Children's Museum:

Got ice cream at BRICS after a bike ride:

Played at Butler during a lunch picnic:

And Palmer and I got to go for a few bike rides while Reese was at swimming lessons:

Lindsay, Palmer and I all went to Reese's last day of preschool this year and Palmer was the life of the party:

And now, some Palmerisms and Reeseisms:

Reeseisms:
  • When referring to how tightly he'd hold his frisbee when he stuck it out the car window so it wouldn't drop: "I'll hold it tighter than a monkey's uncle. Tighter than a monkey's uncle hugs itself"
  • "LEGOs are so awesome, I can't stand it!"
  • "I love this new bike, it's so pre-qualified"
  • When talking to Lindsay on Mother's Day: "And the most exciting part is it's all about you, and it's a little about me too"
  • When walking over to Lindsay and I to give us a hug: "Family hug...without Palmer!"
Palmerisms:
  • Palmer asks "Why?" all of the time now.
  • Instead of "3, 2, 1 Blast Off", for some reason, he says "2, 5, 2 Tevya!"
  • Whenever he sees something interesting he says: "Oh, wow! Cool!"
  • He LOVES animals and calls our next door neighbor's dog "Buscha, Buscha" (Buster, Buster)
  • We asked Palmer the other day:
    • Lindsay: Who's your favorite brother?
    • Palmer: Reese
    • Lindsay: Who's the best brother in the whole world?
    • Palmer: Palmer!
  • He doubles words sometimes: "Bounce bounce house" or "dump dump truck"
  • Palmer calls Mr. Potato Head "Pot head"
  • He says: "Nana says toodledoo"
  • He calls ketchup "chep-up"
  • We've also been playing a game where I ask What does XYZ animal say, then Palmer tells me what noise the animal makes. Today after I asked him one, he said, in a complete sentence: "What does a camel say?"
