18 Month Update

We have quite a little man on our hands now. Reese celebrated his 18-month birthday by taking his first plane flight on our way to Denver to visit Nana and Boppa. He did a fantastic job on the plane (but, I'm pretty sure the Elmo DVDs we brought with us had something to do with that) and has been doing so much more in the past few weeks.

He's started talking a lot lately. In addition to knowing of his immediate family, he can also name 8 or so Sesame Street characters and constantly lets us know if he sees a bus or anything football related. He's also been doing very well learning new animal sounds.

The big news for his 18-month checkup is that he was 21.5 lbs and has reached the 3rd percentile! He's eating well, but I swear he burns every single calorie he gets in a day.

Reese has been enjoying the snow and his Christmas gifts (look for another post about Christmas soon) and here's a picture of him pushing around Uncle Taylor's Cozy Coupe on New Year's Eve (also known as 2nd Christmas).

Favorites and new skills:
  • Talking ALL THE TIME! Learning lots of new words (Football is still his favorite, though ;))
  • He's enjoying different foods now with oranges (he calls them "bobo") and soup leading the pack.
  • He just started going down the slide all by himself (It's just our small slide in the house, but it still counts).
  • Letters - He knows and can spot the letters O and R (and we're working on A and B).
