This is what being a Hoosier is all about

Ah, the smell of grease on a balmy (90+ degrees with humidity) evening in August. The 2009 Indiana State Fair is in full swing right now and being the loyal Hoosiers that we are, we needed to make our first appearance with Reese in order to fully indoctrinate him. Also, we're obligated to support this Indiana Tourism event :)
Reese enjoys the petting zoo but feels a bit overwhelmed by his first sniff of manure. Welcome to Indiana, kid!
Reese and Jeremy check out the horses
Reese dreams of the day, he too will grow his own 400 lbs pumpkin to enter at the State Fair
And of course, let's not kid ourselves about the real reason we head to this shin-dig every year....the unbelievable bliss that is fair food. Our first stop, the pineapple whip. And lucky for us, it happened to be $2 Tuesday at the fair so we were able to enjoy......
Even more fabulous goodness; deep fried Wisconsin Cheese, a gyro, salt-water taffy, and the very popular deep fried cookie dough. There were a few more items but we wanted to save a little bit of our dignity so this is a sample of our samplings.

Stay tuned for State Fair Part II as we baptize my parents in the holy Hoosier water on Saturday.
